Academic Program

Bachelor of Engineering Program

Tool and Die Engineering

OBJECTIVE & CHARACTERISTICS

The objective of this department is to create a learning environment for the TDE students, so that they can design, and analysis the production of specialized tools. These tools are used in metal forming, and polymer forming for the industrial sector in Thailand. It also has a mission to provide academic services and advanced research to the industrial sector on behalf of the Tool and Die Technology Center (TDTC) which is the center for sheet metal stamping work of the Thai-German Institute.

Characteristics:

  1. A supportive, encouraging and challenging environment
  2. The TDE programs emphasize internships and co-ops to prepare the students for work in the industry
  3. Programs typically last 4-years
  4. The TDE department is in partnership with the following organizations:
    • Thai Tool and Die Industry Association (TDIA)
    • Thai-German Institute (TGI)
    • Thailand Professional Qualification Institute (Public Organization)(TPQI)

Courses

The courses of this department focus on both theoretical and practical education, and include Engineering Materials, Computer Aided Design (CAD), Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM), Computer Aided Engineering (CAE), Machine Tools, Products Design, Metal Die Design and Mold Design.

Facilities

This department has various modern laboratories and workshops for supporting student education and advanced research such as a Basic Engineering Workshop, Materials Testing Heat Treatment, Precision Measurement and CAD/CAM/CAE. Significant machines include the Automatic Machines such as a CNC-Machining Center, a CNC-Lathe, an EDM and a Wire-EDM. There are also Modern Metal Forming Machines, Injection Molding Machines and Blow Molding Machines.
